Music Confidential is a hybrid publication. It is part media report, part analyst report.

Music Confidential covers business and pricing models, licensing issues, government activities and legal claims & decisions that involve music or affect the creation, performance, use or distribution of music. It also includes a brief list of deals & signings. Please email pitches and press releases to musicconf@gmail.com.

The publication does not profile or review artists or publish articles focusing on individuals.

Music Confidential will include a list of label signings of known artists to multi-album deals and a list of publisher deals with known songwriters. For label signings, press releases must include the type of deal -- whether masters are being licensed to the label or the artist signed a recording services deal with the label. Press releases for publishing deals must include the type of deal -- whether admin, co-publishing (share copyright ownership) or a songwriter's deal (publisher owns entire copyright) -- and what song interests the deal covers (e.g., past, current and/or future).

Music Confidential does not cover executive or personnel changes. However, receipt of press releases on these changes is appreciated to keep the publication's contact list up to date.
